Kyoko, your massage after a little absence made me so happy, you know.

Your greeting to us made me so much happy. Kyoko ! I'm very glad to know you're
so well. A new member has joined us,who is Mrs.Kojima ,and had observed our class at the last class for Machiko. She tries to talk in English very much.Last week
we talked about some foreign countries which she had visited before.
Machiko seems to have a rather harder time for her life because her own mother
fell in illness of heart desease & she should have an operation, and so she will
have to come &go between Kanagawa & Fukuoka from now on. When my own mother died
toward the end of last month and I told her about it, she said to me about that answering to my mail. You know the age of around 50 or 60 is very busy age  to support their family. I will go to my home town Nagasaki next week end ,too, to
attend the event of 'NOKOTSU', when all my family ,so three children and one daughter-in-law ,will attend. I'm very busy now, but I'm so happy to do well everything in success. Kyoko, please come as early as you can. We are waiting for you !!

How have you been?

Noriko, you must be happy with really good exprience.  I think the community with some foreign friends makes your life refresh.   I can easily image that you had organized the plans seriously to please them.  The Miso-soup and Nikuzyaga you made certainly impressed them by your earnestness. I hope they had a nice time in Yamagata, too.

We saw off our ambasadders in success!

Yesterday morning some of us went to Shin-Osaka Station to see off Australian
friends to their own faverate places by each other. My guests,Ian & Euice, went to
Yamagata Pre. to visit their Japanese friends who had stayed with them two years ago as members of F.F.Yamagata. My husband & I enjoyed so much their staying with us,which was very lovely and so pleasant to prepare some food or to speak with them. They liked my 'miso soup' every morning much more than I had guessed. I prepared 'niku-jaga', shepherd pie (ordinary British home cooking),fried fish touched with starch & some kinds of vegitables on , and they loved them very much.
F.F.Osaka had many plans to entertain them and on the 6th day (Wednesday) I took
them to my church ,where we had a small lunch with some members of my churh & paster, where ocassionally some ladies from Sweden also came to join and we altogether read Bible and sang hyms. They said it was a very nice experience to them. So the organization of Friendship Force is very nice, I think. Will you
join us ?

Thank you for the friendships!

I enjoyed not only learning English but also having relationships with lovely people there. We are busy and running after efficiency today, but we need to touch each other, talk face to face to have full realization of the happiness. I'm feeling we are united by some tie.

It maybe difficult for me to come back the class on Thursdays for some time.
But I'd love to visit there when I have a day off.

Take care, keep in touch, and until we meet again!

Thank you also from me!

Jeff,Noriko and Kyoko,I'd like to say "Thank you" from me. I enjoyed the class with you very much. I enjoyed Noriko's talk about a dog,Kyoko's humorous talk and Jeff's new story for me.

Mikie,I was so glad you showed up in your busy schedule. Etsuko, thank you so much for giving a message during the class.

Mio went back to Singapore today. We checked out our clothes that we don't wear and took them to a second hand shop yesterday. They were 7 big plastic bags all together. And I got 3,000 yen. it was more money than I expected.

The movers will come to pack on 16th and the moving truck will come to carry on 17th. I'm leaving Osaka afternoon that day.

I'll miss you and Osaka. I'll write a message after I get settled. Thank you so much again.

まちこさんありがとうございました!

It was so nice & special a class yesterday ,thanks to you , Machiko !The participation of Mikie and the observer also heaped our peaceful atmosphere, and
above all your daughter's participation was a great present,by which Jeff seemed
to get excited and the level of our class altogether increased, you know. You looked
so happy to be followed by your daughter, and I felt quite relieved to make it sure
that you will be so much supported by her indeed. I am sure that you can continue
to live a happier life together with your heartful husband and a strong supporter,
your daughter. We do hope you to have the same communication as ever with all of
us. And we'll send every interesting news to you, and besides it I have another hope to you, which is your oarticipation to FF West-Tokyo, then we may have a chance to meet each other somewhere in Japan, and to be able to have the same interests and topics, which , I think, your husbad may be interested in. You seemed
to have had a cold. Please take good care of yourself, Machiko.
Now, I'm going to the beautysaloon. By the way, will that observer join us ? I do hope her to come in our class, because she has many topics to talk and energy to
speak English, I think. Her join to us will surely make our class better and happier.

Hello again everyon

On April 4th (Sun.) we ,the members of FF Osaka & the guests from Australia
will go to Osaka-Casle-Park to ride in a water bus, in which they say we can
enjoy beautiful cherry flower blossoms. I don't know its exact ticket fee,but our group will charter one water bus ,so the fee may be cheeper than usual,I think.
And the whole seeting capacity is 80,and even though all our members may
participate it, the capacity isn't filled. If some other people share this event,
we will be so happy both in  the more lovely cheer and fee. You'll be sure to have
a very pleasant time with many Australians.

Schedule : April 4th (Sun)  AM 8:40 (not exact now)
meeting place =  the front of Ossaka-Castle-Park

How gorgeous Olympic is !

What a nice experience you had, Mikie !Yes, Olympic Games surely give us both big
pleasure and a great courage, you know. I really remember the special song for Olympic sung by YUZU at the last Olympic, which I love very much. I want Mao Asada
and Mikitee to get medals of nice color. Aiko Uemura was very sorry not to get a
medal, which she should have got.
Well, it's a nice knowledge that the early warblers' song is called SASANAKI 小鳴き
or 笹鳴き. Japanese has many beautiful words with nature or change of nature.
I love HAIKU and SENRYU very much, so I'm interested in this kind of words.
Reforms is very exciting but needs us so much energy. I'll have guests from Australia in the eraly April, so I want to communicate with them by internet but
they may not love to use computer so much, which is very inconvenient. But thnaks to it, I'll get to make communication with the strangers living in another city
, which is also very interesting and wonderful. Any way to meet and make friends with other people is very very wonderful. We're looking forward to it.

I watched the opening ceremony on TV. It reminded me of winter Olympic in Nagano 1998. I wanted to take part in the historical moment of my hometown. So I volunteered for the Paralympic there. I was assigned to the biathlon field in Nozawa Onsen. The athletes were handicapped people but they had clear aims in life and lived actively. I was touched by their challenging spirit. Olympic gives us not only dream but also courage.

What's going on with your kitchen reform,Machiko? It must be not easy to direct from long distance. I hope you'll be confortable with your new life.

Noriko, do you know the word "Sasanaki"? It means warblers begin to chirp in bush for the first time in winter. I've just learned in my last tea ceremony lesson.

Spring has come !!

At the end of last month I really heard the clear song of a warbler. It was just near the third-junior-highschool of Minoh in tne early morning when I was walking with my dog. Usually the new  voice of a warbler bird is rather bad something like
this, ' Kekyo,Kekyo' not 'Ho-hokye-ko',but at that time he was very good in singing. Do you konw the singing warbler bird is male only, which is calling a female bird. The voice of the bird which I heard was amazingly beautiful, which
might suggest that that bird is precocious, I think. Any way spring may be near at hand.

Kitchen reform

I came home last night. I'm completely exhausted by the work at my mother-in-law's home! As for the new kitchen, she only asked a painter in her neighborhood. And then he brought some people. I met seven people to talk about the kitchen reform on Sunday at the new kitchen space...a carpenter,an electrician,a man for gas and for interior, and so on. There is no man for total reform company,so I had to talk with them each. They didn't give me the drawing for the plans but described orally. So it was a little diffcult for me to draw the picture of the plan in my mind and decide. That time, I finished to decide abount the system kitchen, the color of the floor and the wall. There are many things to think about. Now I'm thinking about floor heeting for living room.

Did you come back , Machiko?

You know, I'm very interested in your new kitchen. I wonder what tipe of kitchen unit you decided to equip. Now I'm also thinking of which reforming company is
better. It's not my hope to use much money for reform this age of mine, but I think
it is reasonable to use more money to buy better equipment for the kitchen. Will
you please tell us how you have had your kitchen build , machiko ?

About reform.

These days I have also been thinking about the reform, especially that of kitchen
and the entrance. As for me it started from changing gas table to IH heater, because
some friends or neghbors, and my cousin changed the way of enrgy from gas to electricity, because of safe and costs. To tell my conclusion, I decided to use
both gas & electricity, which , I guess, is better than using only electricity as
energy at home. Advertisement recommends us to use electricity only, by which the electricity charge is discounted as bornus point. But it doesn't have so much advatage in the disastrous days, I think, so I refused to choose electricity only.
And so I have got to only have my gas table changed to IH heater . I'll use the old
unit of kitchen of mine , because it is rather beautiful even now. As for the entrance aroud, I'll widen it by taking off the wall between the toilet room and
entrance, and I'll widen the entrance fall by adding some floor. It's very interesting, and exciting to reform home for women.I like to change the atmosphere
of rooms. By the way , the All Electrification is very ,very popular these days,
and I think it might be better choice in country sides. If you choose all electrification , the charge of electricity is discounted very much.

New kitchen

I'm going to my mother-in-law's house with my husband tomorrow for a few days. We decided to put another kitchen. We need to discuss about it with a carpenter. He lives in her neighborhood. She said that he looked so happy when she asked to remake a room into a kitchen. He might not have much work in this bad economy.
Actually it's not a room but storage space. There is a ceiling and a wall, but it doesn't have a door. And the floor is concrete. It needs to have a new door, new floor and new kitchen unit. It's a lot of work. It's not a city gas but propane gas in that area. I'll have much lifestyle change.

By the way I gave you wrong information about Mr.Murakami in the class yesterday. He lives in Singapore, but he doesn't have permanent residency. He was given three year's probation last year. He is in the middle of suspension like Noriko Sakai.
He lives in Singapore for his company now,but he can come back to Japan. According to Mio he has a plan to return temporarily to Japan soon.

Well, Wikipedia is very useful. Sometimes you can read the same article in Japanese and English when you click "language" from the menu in the left-hand side of the screen. Please try to access these sites if you don't know about online news in English.

Mio is going to the U.S. for her work. It will be a good opportunity for her to take good stimulus about the new trend. Shoes are the most important items in the rich who are particular about. There is a saying, if we look at one's shoes,we can find one's value (appreciate). I wonder it is true. Anyway being young like Mio is great! They can absorb many things like sponge. I hope she won't be tired because of the tight schedule.            I know Mr.Murakami a little. He reminds me of Takafumi Horie. I think he got a lot of money by dividing his company's stocks. Give me a vital stock market. I have lost rather money for the investment. So I can't eat out the luxury restaurant now and neither in the future
As Noriko said on this board, I have to earn money in the right way. I have not been so diligent.   Honestly, Noriko is right. Thank you Noriko.
